Assessment and Intervention for Auditory Processing Disorders (APD)

Workshop/Training

This seminar will address issues related to understanding auditory processing disorders in children based on evidence from cognitive science, hearing science, and language sciences. Clinical implications for assessment and treatment will be discussed.

Learning objectives:
At the conclusion of the event, the participants will:
• Describe how APD is currently defined and characterized by various professionals (ASHA, AAA).
• Describe a hierarchical assessment approach for assessing APD.
• Discuss intervention activities for children who may experience APD with or without concomitant language disorders.
