Jim Richards Workshop

Workshop/Training

The first session of this workshop will be focused on design-concept sketching. The second session will be devoted to on-location sketching techniques. Participants are expected to draw with Jim throughout his tutorial. Paper will be provided, but no other media supplies. Please see the list of materials below indicating what each individual should bring.

There will be a lunch break between sessions. However, lunch will not be provided by the Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning Department or the university. Please plan to purchase lunch on campus, or bring a lunch with you.

Interrupting your Inner Voice of Judgement

Workshop/Training

An interactive and creative approach to addressing how you think about risk, failure and success while learning to pivot to become more resilient. This workshop is a combination of practicing mindfulness and various artistic approaches, discussing the importance of self-talk, learning how to indentify, personify, and interrupt your inner voice of judgement, and then creating the tools by which to develop an inner voice of persistence.

This awards ceremony is open to the public and will recognize and highlight each awardee. The ceremony will be followed by a reception that will serve as Research Week’s concluding event. Awardees include all college undergraduate and graduate highlighted researchers and the presentation awardees from SRS.

'They Shall Not Grow Old,' Peter Jackson's award-winning WWI documentary

Peter Jackson, the director of “They Shall Not Grow Old,” restored and modernized footage of World War I that's never been seen. Ross Peterson, History professor emeritus, will present remarks prior to the film.
