Latinx Cultural Center 1 year Birthday Celebration

Grand County High School Concurrent Enrollment Registration Open

Date/Deadline

Concurrent enrollment is a program that allows high school students to take university courses while in high school. The credits earned from a concurrent enrollment course count both as credits towards high school graduation and as university credits. The grade a student receives from a concurrent enrollment course appears on the student's high school transcript and on the student's permanent college transcript. Foundations of USU Teaching

This event will be specifically relevant to new faculty, instructors, and graduate student instructors new to teaching at USU. We will explore the mission and vision of the USU undergraduate degree and learning outcomes. Focus will be placed on intentionality in preparing and facilitating courses along with information about USU student demographics. Attendees will engage in hands-on breakout sessions on areas of practical interest, including using Canvas, course planning, creating usable content, access to library resources, and incorporating planetary thinking into the curriculum. A general session on effective teaching practices will be followed with opportunities to enroll in the ETE10 program, and schedule course planning consultations with an instructional designer. The third of four birding tours on the Swaner Preserve in 2019! Legendary Utah birder, Kenny Frisch, will guide us on an early morning excursion to view and identify local and migratory feathered friends on the Preserve. Please be sure to wear hiking shoes or boots that can get wet, and be prepared for uneven soggy ground.

We will provide binoculars for each attendee, or bring your own if you have a pair you prefer.

Exhibit: " Woman Speaking to Women: The Political Art of Nina Allender"

Exhibition

An exhibit of eight pieces of cartoons and other work by Nina Allender, the Suffragist art director and chief cartoonist. The exhibit includes The Suffragist reproductions and photographs. Visit the museum Tuesday - Friday 10 am - 4 pm and the first Saturday of the month 10 am - 2 pm.
