Student Activities

Thrift store comprised of items donated from students and faculty on campus. Donation bins are located in the sustainability office (TSC 302 A). Students and faculty can donate clean clothes, cleaning supplies, kitchen utensils, etc. Those who donate will be able to receive in store credit for their donations.

Volunteer Tree Planting with the Forest Service

Student Activities

Plant trees with the Forest Service for the Second Saturday Volunteer Project, hosted by the Student Sustainability Office. Meet at the TSC Roundabout at 9:45 am to carpool to Green Canyon. We will return to campus at 12:45 pm. Or, meet us at the Green Canyon Parking Lot at 10 am. Bring water, sun protection, and snacks!

EcoHunt Registration & Indicator Bag Pick-Up

Student Activities

EcoHunt is a sustainability and outdoor recreation themed scavenger hunt. Teams of 2-6 students complete EcoHunt challenges to compete for prizes. The top three teams win a prize basket, with prizes including ski passes, swag from Caffe Ibis and Sunrise Cyclery, grocery gift cards, outdoor recreation items, and more. 50 participants from the top teams also receive a 2019 Earth Day t-shirt! Students can register their EcoHunt team at this event, or complete the registration in advance on the USU Earth Day website.

Nourishing Nordice: A Celebration of Sustainable Foodways in Scandinavia


This event, which takes place during Earth Week, will include live performances by Salt Lake Scandinavian Music and Dance, food tasting of local, organic, vegetarian and gluten-free options, as well as information on sustainable living and heritage.

Hand made treasures from local artisans in Kenya will be available for purchase to raise funds for the Tenkes Library Project. Fundraiser sponsored by Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity. All proceeds benefit the Tenkes Library Project in Kenya, Africa.

Spring ACT Workshop


Join us for an engaging one-day intensive training in Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), led by Dr. Kirk Strosahl, PhD (one of the founders of ACT and a peer-reviewed trainer). Focused ACT lends itself well to primary care, behavioral health consulting, and other allied health settings where interventions are brief, in addition to traditional therapy settings. During this training, you will develop skills needed to conduct change oriented interviews, create life changing problem reframes, and to motivate radical behavior change. You may also be able to earn 6 CE credits (pending approval).
