Latinx Cultural Center Taco Cookout Fundraiser

The USU Latinx Cultural Center is starting a series of Cookout Fundraisers. We will have these events each month starting on August 19, 2019. These events are designed to help our USU Latinos in Action Chapter and other future activities for our students. We will be selling carne asada tacos and quesadillas, as well as canned drinks.

We at the Latinx Cultural Center invite you to come support our first fundraiser of the 2019-2020 academic year!

Our first “Forget Your Lunch Monday” is happening next week! Don’t bring your lunch on Monday. Instead, carne asada tacos and quesadillas (vegetarian option) will be available for purchase.

3 tacos/quesadillas for only $5. Drinks $1.

All proceeds go to help our newly launched Latinos in Action Chapter at USU with their events and service activities.

Faith Distress Support Group

Workshop/Training

This group is an opportunity for students to get together in a safe environment, learn from, and support each other. Each week, a discussion will be held of pertinent issues related to faith that create stress (e.g. having doubts or internal conflict finding spirituality, faith transitions, finding a place of belonging, talking to those of different faiths, etc.). Topics are motivated by participants each week.
The group is co-facilitated by Monique Frazier, a psychologist from USU Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and Bonnie Glass-Coffin, Anthropology professor and Director of the Interfaith Leadership Certificate Program.

Allies on Campus Training

Please join us for a special Allies on Campus training for all graduate students, faculty, and staff of the USU Psychology Department.

This is a free educational event offered to individuals interested in increasing their knowledge about gender identities and sexual orientations, as well as experience of individuals who identify as LBGTQA+. This special seminar opportunity will include exercises and discussion topics specifically oriented toward individuals working in a variety of psychology professions.

The training will be held from 1pm - 4pm with refreshments served from 4pm - 5pm.

These wraps can be used to keep food fresh as an alternative to plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Make a set of wraps to use at home and leave with the skills to make more!

Supplies will be provided. However, if you have a 100% cotton fabric that you would like to make wraps out of, feel free to bring it along.
