When it comes to recreation and well-being, USU has it all.
Several fitness facilities cater to a range of interests, and students have access to the free health clinic and wellness center. Logan, and the surrounding area, including ski resorts, lakes, rivers, and mountains, make USU one of the finest recreational environments in the nation.
Logan Canyon is literally one minute from campus and leads to Beaver Mountain Ski Resort and Bear Lake. It has endless hiking and mountain biking trails and more than 275 climbing routes. At the mouth of the canyon is Logan River's First Dam, which offers canoeing, fishing, swimming, cliff jumping, picnic tables, and more. To aid in your adventures, USU's Outdoor Recreation Program provides discounted equipment rentals, sells used equipment, offers classes, and organizes group trips.
USU is minutes from two federally designated wilderness areas, which means students have access to thousands of acres of public land for backcountry skiing, hiking, and more.
Forget about the freshman 15. USU Campus Recreation operates two exercise facilities that house swimming pools, indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a student-only fitness center, a billiards room, racquetball courts, and more. It also organizes intramural sports, club sports, a variety of work-out classes, and the Big Blue race series. For credit, students can take PE classes, including ballroom dancing, aerobics, hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, skiing, figure skating, hip hop dance, and more.
Registered Utah State Students and their spouses and dependents are eligible to use the providers and services of the Student Health and Wellness Center. The Student Health and Wellness center provides basic medical care with outpatient, primary care, women’s health, family planning, pharmacy, laboratory and health education services to the students at Utah State University in a convenient environment.
The USU Aggies compete in 16 varsity sports as part of the Mountain West Conference. And our athletes are more than just winners. They are involved in the community and invested in their academics, even boasting an 87 percent graduation rate, per the NCAA’s ranking.
CAPS, Counseling and Psychological Services, support student mental health development and self-reliance through short-term therapy, support groups, workshops, referrals to outside long-term resources, and self-guided resources. Services are confidential and most are free to qualified students.
The Aggie Recreation Center is a new student-only recreational facility at Utah State University. The building located on the corner of 800 East and 700 North, west of the HPER gives students the most modern workout facility available!
